The conduct of the Minneapolis Police Officer that took the life of George Floyd, is inexcusable and heart-wrenchingly sad beyond description. Equally sad and disturbing, is the inaction of the Minneapolis Police Department’s lack of discipline for the past performance issues of this same officer.
But how can any of this justify the lawless actions of those people who claim to seek to right this wrong? Where are those, who take issue with Floyd’s murder, when it comes to the ongoing violence within the Black Community, black on black crime for example, to address the need for all the senseless violence to stop? Apparently, they will only take issue when an incident can be claimed or made racial. Sounds like “you can’t let a crisis go to waste”, made by those who are organizing & instigating conflict and not seeking peaceful solutions. People forget, there is only one real race, the human race.
People do not gain respect when they do not show respect!
Those resorting to violence, rioting, and murder to supposedly right this wrong and those who are calling for the dismantling of our nations police departments are, by this, calling for more killings and ultimately a civil war. Their careless actions and reckless words must be dealt with severely by the our lawmakers, judiciary, and yes, law enforcement. We will NEVER right this wrong with riots, looting, and more killings.
